THE FIRST SINGLE FROM THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM, "MY MUSIC".
If you've ever had a really good friend, then you know exactly what this song is about.
Dedicated to my friend, comrade and partner in crime for over 60 years, the Rev Msgr Peter Zendzian. We went to grammar school, high school and a year of college together. He was my unofficial photographer. Any black and white shot you see of me, you can be assured were taken by him.

Comrades
Music and lyrics by Robert Porembski
CHORUS:
We could never say goodbye,
Cross our hearts and hope to die.
Comrades ‘til the end – oh we are friends.
VERSE 1:
When we were growin’ up, we were always climbin’ trees
Puttin’ frogs on little girls and scrapin’ up our knees.
Stealin’ cookies from your Mom we’ run away and hide.
To make our get away real quick we’d hop our bikes and ride – oh…
CHORUS:
We could never say good bye
Cross our hearts and hope to die.
Comrades to the end, oh we are friends.
Share and share and share alike,
Take my skates I’ll use your bike.
Comrades, most of all, the best of friends.
VERSE 2:
In high school days the locker room became our second home.
Basketballs and baseball bats were all we’d need to know.
The little girls we put frogs on grew bigger every day
I never thought through all theses years, you’d have to go away - oh…
CHORUS:
We could never say goodbye,
Cross our hearts and hope to die.
Comrades ‘til the end – oh we are friends.
When you’re friends, it’s friends for good,
Growin’ up like we hoped we would.
Comrades, still in all, the best of friends.
Friends should never be apart.
Growin’ up can break your heart.
Comrades, far apart but still good friends.
